The North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park is not quite as busy as the South Rim area, but still plenty of visitors annually!

On this trip, I had spent a fair bit of time planning out spots to shoot, making sure I knew sunrise, sunset and had good ideas on what the weather would be doing ahead of my travel to the North Rim.

After setting up camp, I headed off to Cape Royal to start actual scouting in prep for sunset. The spot I found was actually very easy to get to and did not require a lot of thought. I was there by myself for almost an hour before the sunset ‘crowd’ started to show.

I was one of five or six photographers and maybe two other people just there to take it all in.

The light, the location, the atmosphere was all just magnificent!!!
